Duct silencer of impedance type is designed to reduce aerodynamic noise in the ducts of ventilation and air conditioning systems. The casing is made of galvanized steel, the sound-absorbing material is basalt mineral wool with a density of 80 kg/m³, lined with fiberglass cloth to protect against blowout. Standard lengths are 600, 900, 1200 mm. Custom sizes can be manufactured upon request.

How much will it actually reduce the noise?
In the range of 250-2000 Hz — 15-25 dB (length 900 mm). This means that fan noise of 65 dB → after the silencer is 42-45 dB (the standard per SNiP for offices is 45 dB). We are sending the acoustic calculation for your system.
Won't it create additional resistance?
Resistance 15-30 Pa (at a speed of 5 m/s). This is ~3% of the pressure head of a standard centrifugal fan. If the system is already at its limit, we will offer a model with an increased cross-section.
Does mineral wool not blow out?
No. The sound absorber is lined with fiberglass cloth with a density of 350 g/m², stitched every 50 mm. At speeds up to 15 m/s, no blowout occurs. A version with a perforated wall is available for aggressive environments.
How do you figure out what length you need?
Rule: to reduce by 10 dB → length 600 mm; 15 dB → 900 mm; 20-25 dB → 1200 mm. For an accurate calculation, send the fan model and duct size — we will calculate it free of charge.
